Day 1 - Welcome in Dutchland
Welcome to the Netherlands!
Today was the first full day during which all the participants were able to socialise with participants from the other countries. The program was all about getting to know the exchange and its main concepts, and about getting to know each other. The first thing that we did was an extensive name game.
After the first coffee break came the project presentation, in which Timon explained all about this exchange and its three main concepts: ecology, entrepreneurship and the eight competences that the participants will work with during the first week of the exchange. Our Human Rights were also discussed, a subject that we will keep in the back of our minds throughout the exchange. After these presentations, we played a game called Human Bingo, which was a good way of talking to different people.
Following lunchbreak came an essential part of today's program: letting the participants recognise their fears, hopes and contribution. Hopefully, when we come back to these fears, hopes and contribution at the end of the week, the participants will see a development in their personal goals. This gives the exchange more purpose for the personal development of the participants. The Youthpass was also introduced, which includes the eight competences provided by Erasmus+ and how it will enable the participants to recognise possible developments as well.
Finally, time for some more getting-to-know-eachother-games! We played the Samurai game, in which we were supposed to shout each others names quickly while trying not to lose. After this, we created Facebooks pages of ourselves - on paper of course - after which we got introduced to the group by someone else. These Facebook pages now allow us to 'post' something on someone else's page.
At the end of the day, we got together in our Family Groups for the first time and created a logo, motto and name for our group. The day was closed with a smashing closing party!
