Day 4 - Painting and Stroopwafels
This was a stay-at-home-day during which we had all our activities at the accommodation in Lunteren. We started the day off with the usual Secret Friend round, during which another batch of gifts were gifted to some participants.
Following the first coffee break we had an essential workshop for the theme of this Exchange about Ecology and Entrepreneurship. After a short presentation by one of the trainers about everything associated with the two subjects, what these subjects mean and how we can combine them, we had the Painting Workshop, during which we had to make a painting about Ecology and Entrepreneurship in assigned groups. The painting all turned out to be well representing current environmental problems, such as waste and climate change. They were going to be showcased during church the following day.
After lunchbreak the participants presented their paintings and another teambuilding game was introduced: build the highest standing tower with only one marshmellow, some spaghetti, a piece of tape, a piece of rope and the envelope in which the materials were handed in. The game went well and one team seemed to win, however, another team turned out to be the winner at the end (after kind of cheating, but that was quickly resolved).
The next activity was the World Cafe, during which the family groups talked about certain questions with quests, while being served cookies, drinks and candy in exchange for hugs, kisses or compliments. These questions and issues included whether all waste could be recycled, whether a strong Europe would benefit the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania and what is needed for good entrepreneurship.
Before we ended the evening with a fun Dutch-themed party with lots of liquorice, we had a traditional Dutch 'stamppot' dinner with different dishes that is associated with Dutch culture. It was a fun, Dutch evening!
